Booking and participation terms
These terms explain how booking works and the main rules for taking part in a Gin’s Table cooking class. Before you pay the deposit, I will ask you on WhatsApp to confirm that you have read and accepted them.
1. Booking and payment
Bookings are arranged directly with Gin on WhatsApp. Once availability has been confirmed and these terms accepted, the date is secured with a 25% deposit via PayPal. The remaining balance is paid before the cooking class.
2. Participants
Classes are for guests aged 18 or over and normally run with 2 to 6 participants. They are usually shared; a private class can be requested and arranged subject to availability.
3. Location and nature of the activity
Gin’s Table takes place in a private home in Rome. It is a hands-on cooking class: guests prepare the recipes together with Gin and then eat what has been made during the class. The spaces and equipment are those of a normal home kitchen.
4. Safety during the cooking class
Knives, ovens, hobs, pans, kitchen tools and hot surfaces are used during the class. Guests must follow Gin’s instructions, use the equipment and spaces carefully, and immediately report any hazard, accident or illness. Gin may ask a guest to stop a particular activity if she believes it cannot be carried out safely.
5. Allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements
Any allergy, intolerance or dietary requirement must be communicated before the booking is confirmed. This is a home kitchen where a variety of allergens are normally stored and used, so an entirely allergen-free environment and the absence of cross-contact cannot be guaranteed. If you have a food allergy, Gin will assess on a case-by-case basis whether the class can be managed appropriately and may decline the booking if she cannot do so safely.
Guests are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about their dietary requirements. Information about the ingredients used in the class can always be requested.
6. Hygiene and health
Guests must follow the normal hygiene instructions given during food preparation, including washing hands when required. If you have symptoms consistent with gastroenteritis or another potentially contagious condition that may make food handling inappropriate, please tell Gin before the class so that you can agree how best to proceed.
7. Alcohol
Wine or other alcoholic drinks may be served during the class. Drinking is optional and must be responsible. Gin may limit or stop serving alcohol if she considers it necessary for the safety of a guest or the group.
8. Ordinary risks and liability
By joining a hands-on cooking class in a private home, guests acknowledge the ordinary risks associated with being in a domestic environment and using kitchen equipment. This acknowledgement does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited and does not replace any safety obligations imposed by applicable law.
9. Personal belongings
Guests are asked to take reasonable care of their personal belongings while in the home. Any loss or damage will be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable law.
10. Cancellations and date changes
If the class is cancelled because the minimum number of participants is not reached, the deposit will be refunded. If a guest cancels, the deposit is non-refundable. One date change may be requested with at least 72 hours’ notice, subject to availability.
11. Acceptance
Before the deposit is paid, Gin will send a link to these terms on WhatsApp. The booking proceeds after the guest replies confirming that they have read and accepted them. The version that applies is the version available at the link at the time of acceptance.
